Rinalds wrote highly customizable "now playing" PHP script that produces PNG image as result. Can be used for example as signature in some forums. See sample section.

What is it?

This is a simple teeny-tiny Winamp plugin that allows you to send Winamp's current track information to your CGI application, for example Perl, PHP, ASP, etc, etc. I just want my homepage visitors to see what I'm listening right now :) Reason to publish this plugin is I think other people may find it useful.

I'm sick geting my webserver logfiles full with crap like this:

192.168.1.26 - - [18/Dec/2003:17:45:48 +0200] "POST /winamp/ HTTP/1.1" 200 5 "-" "CGIAmpInfo"
192.168.1.26 - - [18/Dec/2003:17:45:58 +0200] "POST /winamp/ HTTP/1.1" 200 5 "-" "CGIAmpInfo"

It is easy to fix if using Apache webserver.

SetEnvIfNoCase User-Agent "CGIAmpInfo" dontlog
CustomLog /path/to/access.log combined env=!dontlog
